I’m a pretty frugal chick and my family lives on an extremely limited budget so I am constantly looking for ways to save money. When you are getting by on a single income, you simply have to watch your spending. I work very hard to take care of my family but every once in a while I like to do something just for me. This is why I’m so glad I discovered Groupon! Let me tell you why…
What is Groupon?
If you haven’t heard of Groupon
then you must live under a rock, it’s a website/app that connects participating local merchants to the public by offering them smoking deals off of their products and services. I have saved some serious cash from using Groupon.
For example, we were able to buy a season pass for a family of four to our local Science Center for what it would cost for just one regular visit! We are talking a year round pass that has literally paid for itself several times over. And since we are a family of 3, my kid can even bring a buddy.
We have also enjoyed trampoline parks, the zoo, and many play centers around the valley for over 50% off. I ALWAYS use Groupon when I’m looking for things to do with my family. And to be honest, we never go to any of these places unless they have a Groupon!
But Groupon is not just awesome for local attractions. Groupon also offers deals on all kinds of things ranging from products, to events, to restaurants, classes, and my personal favorite – Health, Beauty & Wellness Groupons. Ooh la la!
Saving money means making sacrifices. While I would love to be able to afford weekly blowouts, facials, or massages, I just don’t have room for it in my budget. But a girl has still got to look and feel good, right?
This is why I use Groupon anytime I need a little maintenance a.k.a. pampering. And Groupon is the FIRST place I look whenever I need to get my hair cut and colored.
Ladies, you know it typically costs around $85 & up + tip at a decent salon to get your hair cut, colored, and styled, right? Well with Groupon, you can get the same salon services for 40%, 50%, even 60% or more off regular price.
And when you combine your Groupon with a Groupon discount code (you can almost always find one online by searching “Groupon discount code”), you can save even more! In fact, I was able to get my last cut, color and style for only $32! Now THAT I can fit into my budget.
But my best Groupon score to date was when I got a haircut (regularly priced at $35) for – get this – only $3 after using Groupon Bucks and a Groupon discount code. Whaaatt??? Yeah I was pretty proud of that one. 😀
Relieve Stress without Stress
When you are in need of a little relaxation, you can always find great deals on massages, facials, and manicures. I also always use Groupon when my face needs a little freshening up. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about Botox and Juvederm. That stuff can get REALLY expensive.
Since I am a vain, 40-something year old woman, I need a little help fighting the good fight against wrinkles. So when it’s that time, I go to my trusty Groupon app and see who is offering the best prices and services.*
*With Botox or any type of medical procedure, please do your research and read the reviews first. Just because the price is low, doesn’t mean that you will be happy with the results. Proceed at your own risk.
How To Sign up for Groupon
You can sign up for free from your computer, tablet, or download the app directly to your smart phone. After you make your purchase, simply print up the vouchers or present your voucher right on your phone. So easy!
I honestly can’t tell you how happy I am to have found Groupon. It has allowed my family to enjoy life a little bit more even while living on a super strict budget. I’m very grateful.
So before you plan your next vacation, beauty treatment, or night on the town, make sure you check out Groupon first. Why pay full price when you don’t have to? You’ll be glad you did.
Have you tried Groupon yet? What are some of the things you like to use Groupon for? Leave me a comment and let me know!
