I have some great new products I have been testing that I am really excited to tell you about! I had to be patient to allow the products a few weeks to work, but I have some really ugly before photos and some slightly better after photos to prove the results so you can be the judge.
All products being reviewed this week were received complimentary from Tomoson. To learn how you can get products like these for free too, check out my page How to Get Free Stuff for more information on how you can also get cool free stuff like this!
Sorry I will not be posting a before and after pic of this one because trust me, you probably don’t want to see me in the shower. But here is a pic of the product…
I love scented body washes, they are a guilty pleasure of mine. So when I saw that Tomoson had a body wash to review, I jumped at the chance. Plus I was intrigued. What in the world is a therapeutic soap? According to the manufacturer this product contains all organic and natural ingredients with no harmful chemicals or synthetic fragrances. They state that it washes away such conditions as fungus & bacteria responsible for BO, Athletes Foot, Ringworm, Jock Itch, Acne, Toenail & Nail Fungus, Yeast, and other Common Foot and Skin Irritation. Eww I know, right? Fortunately I don’t have any of these conditions at the moment, but I figured what could it hurt? Plus it is enriched with Tea Tree Essential Oil and cooling mint essential oil which has been known to soothe itchy, scratchy, and dry skin, which I am prone to from time to time.
So when I opened the bottle, I got a nice whiff of the scent. It smells heavenly! To me it smells very earthy, perhaps a little like cloves mixed with mint. It is awesome. When I tried the product in the shower, I noticed that it made my skin tingle – including my nether regions. It didn’t burn and wasn’t unpleasant, but it was just kind of weird and it made me a little nervous. I would also imagine that if you have any open cuts or sores, that it might sting a little. So in order to ensure my safety and the safety of my readers, I contacted the manufacturer right away to ensure that it is okay to use all over. They responded very quickly within 24 hours and told me that the tingling is due to the mint essential oil and it is safe to use anywhere on the body. Just avoid the face because you don’t want it getting in your eyes. They also stated that it is possible that if you have any open sores, such as a cut from shaving, you may feel a slight sting for a few seconds. However because of the therapeutic property of the Tea Tree oil, they stated that it actually speeds up healing! I don’t have any cuts or sores so I can’t verify that, but I would imagine that to be true due to the anti-fungal properties of this body wash. It is still advisable to do an allergy test to ensure you don’t have a reaction to any of the essential oils in this product. But then again, I am not a doctor.
But if you have any of the conditions described above, or even if you don’t and just love great smelling body washes, you should give it a try! It also makes an excellent foot wash.
If you are interested in purchasing Oleavine Antifungal Soap with Tea Tree Oil it is available on Amazon.
Eyelash Serum Product Comparison
I have been dying to get my hands on a free eyelash serum. But while I was patiently waiting for one of the manufacturers to approve my application, I got approved for two eyelash serums at the same time. I thought what better way to try them than to do an actual test between the two. I am going to show you a before and after so you can help judge which one you think works best to create longer lashes. So let’s begin!
Here is a before picture here without makeup:
And here is a photo of my eyelashes curled with mascara. Yes they are actually curled. Doesn’t that suck?
As you can see my eyelashes are practically non-existent. Add that to my hooded eye shape and my small eyes disappear. I have tried Latisse in the past and it is definitely an excellent product and works extremely well. However you have to get it by prescription and that stuff is expensive! Plus you have to dispose of the applicators every time and the packaging is really bulky and it is not very practical. But eyelash serums are the next best thing and much more affordable. And obviously I need it! So to provide a fair review, on my right eye I tested Allura Eyelash Serum and on the left I tested Jaowying Beauty Winky Hair Mascara.
So first up I am going to review Jaowying Beauty Eyebrow Serum & Eyelash Growth Stimulator, which I applied to my left eye.
When I received the product I noticed upon opening is that the bottle is very small but it contains a full 7ml of the serum. According to the manufacturer it states that it will grow more lashes that are thicker, healthier and longer after about 3-4 weeks. It also claims to nourish, repair, moisturize and protects hair follicles and skin around eyelashes and brows. Due to a poor mistake I made in the late 90’s, I don’t have any eyebrows anymore (they are permanently tattooed – yes I was young and stupid, but I have to live with it now. Don’t judge!) so I will not be testing the product on my brows. But I have been applying the serum to my lashes every night for the past 3 weeks. The instructions say to use it twice a day, but I only used it once to make it last longer. You apply it just like you would liquid eyeliner. Just try not to get it in your eyes.
You can purchase the Jaowying Beauty Eyebrow Serum & Eyelash Growth Stimulator on Amazon.
The other serum I tested is called Allura Eyelash Growth Serum which I used on my right eye.
This serum comes in a long narrow tube and it also contains 7ml of product. You also apply it just like liquid eyeliner. According to the manufacturer this serum contains:
* Biotin helps prevent lash loss and strengthens eyelashes
* Vitamin E protects lashes from damaging free-radicals and encourages lash growth
* Hyaluronic Acid strengthens, softens, and adds incredible shine to lashes
* Pro-Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) stimulates blood flow for stronger, healthier lashes
Now the real question is how did they work? Well I for one, am impressed. I definitely notice that my eyelashes are longer and thicker than before. I think the Jaowying Winky Mascara provided faster results, but after an extra week the Allura caught up. You can purchase Allura Eyelash Growth Serum on Amazon.
Do you notice a difference before and after? Which one do you think worked better? Please leave a comment and let me know!
The last product I will be reviewing this week is Bella Peau Dark Spot Corrector
I am in my early 40s and have pretty awful skin. I still break out and am getting fine lines and wrinkles. Also what once used to be considered cute little freckles now have another name. Age spots. Ugh! So I was looking forward to trying out this Bella Peau Dark Spot Corrector which is available on Amazon. I have never heard of this manufacturer before but the product sounded like it would be right up my alley. It comes in a pump bottle and has the clear consistency of a thick serum. I have been using it all over my face for about 3 weeks. I think I’m slowly but surely noticing some of these spots fading on my skin. I think it will take a bit more time to really see the results. For the before and after photos, I picked a section of my skin near my temple where I have a few of these dark spots.
I realize the first shot shows all my pores and imperfections. Unfortunately I was unable to replicate the same lighting conditions in the 2nd photos, but I think I am able to see a slight difference in the tone and the spots look like they are getting a little lighter. I plan to use up the entire bottle and we will see what happens. What do you think? Have you used a dark spot corrector before? What products can you recommend to lighten freckles or age spots? I’d love to hear from you!
